2010 chevrolet camaro 2ss rs
help me pick a first car. dodge or chevy?

Dad and I made a deal.
i could have any car i wanted for under 30,000 if i got a 30 or higher on the ACT.
i have a 4.300 gpa so its definitely possible.

i’ve picked out two.

2010 Chevrolet camaro 2SS (w/the 6.2L V8)
or…
2009 Dodge Challenger R/T.

with the options both are about 36,000. I’ll just pay the six thousand. But which is the better car.
based on looks, feel, handeling, and accelleration.
(both have over 22 mpg so i’m not worried about that.)

suggestions and comments please.

According to most car magazines (I’ve never driven either car, nor has anyone probably driven the ’10 Camaro since it’s not out yet…) the Challenger is fairly “soft” for a performance car in terms of suspension tuning, steering ratio etc.,.

The Camaro is supposedly going to be tuned more for “hard” driving from a suspension standpoint. The Camaro is also smaller, lighter and the SS Camaro should have quite a bit more HP than a Challenger R/T if you’re comparing the two head-to-head (the SRT-8 Challenger is the one with comparable power to the SS Camaro, not the Challenger R/T.)

In terms of looks, styling is totally subjective. You like what you like there.

Good luck getting that 30! Some friendly advice from past experience – study specifically for the test and don’t just rely on overall knowledge or GPA to get a good score. Take whatever classes are available to prepare you for the ACT too – they give great tips on what to focus on study-wise and what not to waste your time on. Getting a high score on the ACT is more about being a great test taker and being prepared to take that specific test than about GPA from what I found.
