2010 Dodge Challenger R/T F
2010 Lexus HS 250h Hybrid
2009 GMC Seirra 1500 or Hybrid
2009 Chevy Malibu Hybrid
or
2010 Ford Mustang GT?
That’s quite a diverse range of choices. Based on your picks, it seems a budget of $35,000 is what you have.
If you really like the hybrids, but also want room to haul your friends and maybe a dog as well, your best bet would be a hybrid or diesel SUV. Have a look at one of these models:
Ford Escape Hybrid
Mahindra Scorpio
Mazda Tribute Hybrid
Mercury Mariner Hybrid
Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
The above SUVs are all compact, 4-Door SUVs with All-Wheel Drive except the Mahindra, which has a true 4-Wheel Drive system that can be disengaged for better mileage. The hybrids all score 32-34 miles per gallon in the city, and 28-29 on the highway. The Mahindra is the opposite, in case you do a lot of highway driving, as it scores 27 in the city and 35 on the highway. It also offers up more torque than the hybrids in case you do any towing.
If you end up getting a musclecar, I would definitely have to recommend the Ford Mustang GT. It’s not as large as the other muscle cars, and it has consistently scored the most fun to drive of all three current musclecar offerings (Camaro, Challenger, Mustang). It’s easier to drive, has better handling, gets better gas mileage, and is more fun. In recent tests by several magazines, it was even able to run lap times around various road courses coming within less than a second of the Camaro’s time, despite being down over 100 horsepower (426 in the Camaro, 315 in the Mustang). It’s acceleration time was also only a couple tenths of a seconds slower, all thanks to it being smaller and lighter (in terms of size, the Camaro and Challenger should’ve been named Chevelle and Charger, as they’re so much bigger. Sadly, for has no Torino to compete with them).
I hope this has answered your question. If you have any more, please feel free to ask.
