2008 versus 2009 Subaru Forester?
I was wondering if anyone familiar with Subaru Foresters can tell me if there’s any fundamental difference between the previous generation (2007-2008) and current gen (2009-2010) models aside from the revised shape.
The engines seem be carried over and based on pictures I don’t see much difference in the interior trim. Can anyone who has ridden or driven both comment if there is any difference in ride quality?
The reason I’m asking is because I am interested in buying one for my wife and the 2008 models sell for about $10,000 less than the current generation. Frankly I’m not sure if the new models are worth the difference.
I own a Subaru Forester 2.5XT (SG9, 2008 Model) and my brother owns a Subaru Forester 2.5XT (SH5, 2009 Model).
We both agree that the older model that is the 2007-2008 Model is a better car. Its ride is firmer while the new one has more pitch and roll. The older one is much more agile and faster.
The interior of the older model does not have any squeak nor rattle.
$10,000 less! Go for it.
